Brufen belongs to the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Thus, painkillers or antiphlogistics (inflammatory inhibitors) are described which treat the symptoms of inflammatory processes, such as pain and swelling, but are not derived from cortisone.
The effect of Brufen is due to an inhibition of prostaglandins16,17. They can cause pain, fever and inflammation. If no prostaglandins are produced, pain, fever and inflammation disappear. While drugs such as paracetamol reduce the transmission of pain to the brain, NSAIDs such as ibuprofen act directly and are targeted towards the affected tissue16,17. The actual causes of pain such as inflammatory processes are combated on the spot18.
In other words: Brufen with its active ingredient ibuprofen works right at the source of pain. It also fights the inflammation in the inflamed tissue. Ibuprofen is a so-called “acidic” painkiller (based on its pH value), because of its acidic nature, it penetrates well into the inflamed tissue12.

When you or maybe your child is in pain, you may be seeking fast and effective relief. Brufen combats pain quickly. The active substance is rapidly absorbed into the blood and the symptoms such as toothache or headache improve noticeably after 15 minutes6,11.

لماذا بروفين؟
بروفين يعمل مباشرة على مصدر الألم5,8,14,15
بروفين ينتمي إلى العقاقير الغير استيرويدية المضادة للإلتهابات (المسكنات) ليست مشتقة من الكورتيزون وكذلك مضادات الفلوجيستيكش (مضادات الالتهابات) التي تعالج أعراض الالتهابات، مثل الألم والتورم.
يثبط بروفين البروستاجل اندين16,17. التى تسبب الألم والحمى والالتهاب فيختفي بذلك الألم والحمى والالتهاب. في حين أن الأدوية مثل الباراسيتامول تقلل من إنتقال إشارات الألم إلى المخ أما مضادات الالتهاب غير الستيرويدية مثل ايبوبروفين تعمل مباشرة على سبب الألم وتستهدف الأنسجة المتضررة16,17. لتكافح الأسباب الفعلية للألم مثل الإلتهابات على الفور18.
أو بعبارة أخرى: يؤثر بروفين على مصدر الألم بإحتواءه على المادة الفعالة ايبوبروفين وكذلك يحارب التهابات الأنسجة. إيبوبروفين هو مسكن “حمضي” (ذلك بسبب درجة حموضته العالية)، ولذلك فإنه يخترق الأنسجة الملتهبة بطريقة فعالة12.

عندما تشعر انت أو طفلك بالألم فإنك تبحث عن أسرع السبل للتخلص من الألم وأكثرها فاعلية ولذ فبروفين يقضي على الألم بسرعة. يمتص الدم المادة الفعالة بسرعة وتختفي أعراض آلام الأسنان أو الصداع بشكل ملحوظ بعد 15 دقيقة6,11.

HOW BRUFEN WORKS?
When you are suffering from pain or fever it can be a challenge to choose the right treatment among the prescription-free medicines for your condition. Thus, it is important to understand the difference between painkillers. Brufen contains ibuprofen, which is part of a class of drugs called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
NSAIDs also include aspirin and naproxen sodium. Another commonly used pain and fever medicine is paracetamol (acetaminophen). The analgesic effect of paracetamol is based on a general blockage of pain signals to the brain. Pain usually results from a local irritation of the tissue. Often inflammations or injuries cause these irritations. We perceive the pain itself only after the pain information has been forwarded to the brain. While drugs such as paracetamol reduce the transmission of pain to the brain, NSAIDs such as ibuprofen act directly and are targeted towards the affected tissue.
The actual causes of pain such as inflammatory processes are combated on the spot. Paracetamol has no anti-inflammatory effect 16,17. The advantage over the substance acetylsalicylic acid is that ibuprofen can also be used in children and infants from 3 months. In addition, the risk of hemorrhage in ibuprofen is significantly lower than in acetylsalicylic acid21. The latter inhibits blood clotting up to 7 days. It also has a good gastrointestinal tolerability. This means that the stomach and intestine are not stressed2,3,22.

كيف يعمل بروفين
عندما تعاني من ألم أو حمى يكون اختيارالعلاج المناسب بدون وصفة طبية لحالتك نوعًا من التحدي. وبالتالي، من المهم أن نفهم الفرق بين انواع المسكنات. يحتوي بروفين على ايبوبروفين وهو من الأدوية غير الستيرويدية المضادة للالتهابات (المسكنات).
وتشمل مضادات الالتهاب غير الستيرويدية أيضا الأسبرين ونابروكسين الصوديوم. هناك علاج آخر للألم والحمى أكثر شيوعا وهو الباراسيتامول (اسيتامينوفين) وتأثيره يكون عن طريق منع إرسال إشارات الألم بشكل عام إلى المخ، فالألم ينتج عادة من التهيج الموضعي للأنسجة وفي كثير من الأحيان ينتج هذا التهيج عن الإلتهابات أو الإصابات ونشعرنحن بالألم نفسه فقط بعد أن يتم إرسال إشارات الألم إلى المخ. فالأدوية مثل الباراسيتامول تقلل من إنتقال الألم إلى المخ وكذلك ليس له أي تأثير مضاد للالتهابات، في حين أن مضادات الالتهاب غير الستيرويدية مثل ايبوبروفين تستهدف مباشرة الأنسجة المتضررة.
وتتغلب على الأسباب الفعلية للألم على الفور مثل الإلتهابات 16,17. 17 ما يميز ايبوبروفين عن مادة حمض الأسيتيل ساليسيليك هو أن ايبوبروفين يمكن استخدمه مع الأطفال والرضع من عمر 3 أشهر. وبالإضافة إلى ذلك، فإن خطر النزف مع الايبوبروفين أقل بكثير مما هوعليه مع حمض الأسيتيل ساليسيليك21. كما أن الجهاز الهضمي يستطيع تحمله. وهذا يعني عدم إجهاد المعدة والأمعاء2,3,22.

Pain and its cause are very diverse. Therefore, Brufen offers different products with several strengths and dosage forms specially adapted to individual needs.
BRUFEN 200 & 400 MG TABLETS
Brufen 200 mg & 400 mg tablet is indicated in mild to moderate type of pain such as menstrual pain, soft tissue injuries or headache. Brufen 200 mg & 400 mg tablet is an anti-inflammatory drug and is indicated in the treatment of fever15.

BRUFEN 600 MG TABLETS
Brufen 600 mg tablet is indicated for moderate pain such as acute muculoskeletal pain, i.e. back pain that occurs due to a false posture or unfavorable body strain, menstrual pain, or postoperative pain e. g. a tooth extraction or other injuries. Brufen 600 mg tablet is an anti-inflammatory drug and is indicated in the treatment of fever5.

Brufen granules dissolve very quickly in the stomach and reach into the blood fast6. Therefore, the pain-relieving effect is already noticeable within minutes6,7. Brufen 600 mg granules is indicated when particularly quick action is important: in case of acute pain, eg after injuries in sport, swelling after local injuries or joint problems.

BRUFEN COLD AND BRUFEN FLU
A Brufen cold tablet contains a combination of the two ingredients ibuprofen (400 mg) and pseudoephedrine (60 mg). A Brufen flu tablet contains a combination of the two ingredients ibuprofen (200 mg) and pseudoephedrine (30 mg). Brufen flu suspension contains a combination of the two ingredients ibuprofen (100 mg per 5 ml) and pseudoephedrine (15 mg per 5 ml). It provides a solution for all cold symptoms as nasal obstruction, headache, sore throat, fever and body aches9,10,11. While ibuprofen relieves fever and pain, pseudoephedrine with its decongestant effect ensures that the nose and airways are freed. Despite the cold you can breathe through your nose again.

يحتوي قرص بروفين كولد على تركيبة من المادتين إيبوبروفين (400 مجم) والسودوإيفيدرين (60 مجم) ويحتوي قرص بروفين فلو على تركيبة من المادتين ايبوبروفين (200 مجم) والسودوإيفيدرين (30 مجم). بروفين كولد للبرد شراب يحتوي على تركيبة من المادتين ايبوبروفين (100 مجم لكل 5 مل) والسودوإيفيدرين (15 مجم لكل 5 مل). وهو يوفر حلاً لجميع أعراض البرد مثل انسداد الأنف والصداع وإلتهاب الحلق والحمى وآلام الجسم9,10,11. بينما إيبوبروفين يخفف الحمى والألم، السودوإيفيدرين بتأثيره على منع الإحتقان يضمن عدم وجود أي عوائق تعيق الجهاز التنفسي؛ فمع بروفين كولد ستتنفس من أنفك دون زكام او إحتقان حتى و إن كنت مصاباً بالبرد.
